The natural law theory of renaissance period is mainly based on rationalism as new ideas flooded in all areas of knowledge. Reasoning became the gist of all thoughts. Reform at all levels freed people from useless shackles and they could express what was “inherent” in the idea of law. Renaissance period saw the consequences of new concept of nationalism, colonialism and demise of theological colour of legal theory.
